Coronavirus Update: Major Airports Shut down– Buhari Govt

Kano International Airport, Kano, Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, and therefore the Port Harcourt International Airport in Rivers State.
Speaking with the State House correspondents after meeting with President Buhari on Friday, Sirika said that the airports were enclose order to minimize the entry points into Nigeria.
He also aded that, “The wisdom in shutting down the three airports is that we attempt to minimise all entry points because this stuff are imported; so we attempt to minimize the entry points by closing down Kano, PortHarcourt and Akanu Ibiam then restricting Lagos to get rid of those 15 countries.”

The Aviation Minister also noted that travelers from countries that had but 1000 reported cases would be allowed into Nigeria for now

He also revealed that the travel ban on 15 countries took effect from midnight today, Saturday.
