Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, has opposed plans by the federal to receive medical kits and personnel from China to assist within the battle of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, at the daily briefing of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 on Friday, said some Chinese companies in Nigeria have helped to get some medical kits in China which a cargo aircraft would be sent to China during a few days to pickup the consignment also as usher in some doctors . “I are notified of medical supplies from China, courtesy of a gaggle of Chinese companies working here in Nigeria. A special cargo aircraft shall leave Nigeria during a few days to gather the things which include commodities, personal protective equipment and ventilators. An 18-man team of Chinese doctors including doctors, nurses and other medical advisers shall come along side the flight to help us. I need to at this juncture commend our frontline workers who do an excellent job just in case identification and management.
FFK says this is often not an honest move. Taking to his Twitter handle to oppose it, he wrote
Mr. President, don’t allow 5G in Nigeria & if you’ve got already done so burn it. don’t accept face masks & other accessories from the Chinese to assist prevent coronavirus. don’t accept help from Chinese doctors. don’t accept any anti-Coronavirus vaccines from ANYONE.
