Buhari seeks Senate’s confirmation of Galadima as head of NIPSS
Muhammadu Buhari writes the Senate asking for confirmation for Prof Habu Galadima as director-general of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS)
President Buhari says section 8(5) of the NIPSS act empowers him to write the Senate for such confirmation.
The president appeals to the senators to support and clear the candidate he has nominated for the position President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, July 9, wrote the Senate seeking confirmation for the appointment of Prof Habu Galadima as the substantive director-general of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, Jos.
In the letter dated July 9, Buhari said his request was backed by section 8 (5) of the NIPSS act, which empowers him to forward names of nominees for the office to Senate for confirmation. READ ALSO: HOW IT STARTED

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Buhari said that he attached a copy of the nominee’s curriculum vitae to the letter to further enable the Senate have more information about him.
Galadima, born in 1963 at Toto local government area of Nasarawa state, is a professor of political science at the University of Jos, Plateau. It was learnt that another letter from the president urged the Senate to confirm the appointment of Uba Maska as executive director of the National Communication Commission (NCC).
